About Falk

Falk is a modern bistro with deep roots in Frederiksberg. Located in the old station building on Solbjergvej, it features a private function room accommodating up to 45 guests, as well as outdoor seating that wraps around the entire building. Behind Falk is Martin Alf, who, with his love for simple bistro food and lunch classics made with a gentle hand, has created a modern bistro. Despite his many years in the Copenhagen restaurant scene, he has not forgotten his Swedish heritage; consequently, you will naturally find a touch of Västerbotten cheese, along with other Swedish elements on the menu.

The Station Building

The building housing Falk was constructed in 1864 according to drawings by architect V.C.H. Wolf, the same architect behind the warehouse and stationmaster’s residence located adjacent to it. Originally, it served as an intermediate station on the Copenhagen–Roskilde line, but passenger traffic ceased in 1911 when Copenhagen Central Station took over the role as the city’s central hub. The building continued as a freight station until the mid-1990s. From 1934, the station was the terminus for S-train Line F—all the way until 1998, when the train departed from Frederiksberg for the very last time. Today, the old waiting room has been converted into a private dining and event space in the heart of Frederiksberg.

In 1992, the entire building complex was listed as a protected heritage site, and today the metro runs beneath it. You can still see it in the walls: tall windows, the characteristic station architecture, and a location that for 160 years has brought people together in transit—now gathering people for a different purpose.
